About GhostedByVC
GhostedByVC is an invite-only, pseudonymous community where founders document how a VC process actually ended — including when a fund simply went quiet ("ghosted"). The aim is a public, fund-level record of what the fundraising process is really like, built from honest first-hand accounts.
What it's for
Fundraising is opaque. Founders rarely get to compare notes on how a specific fund actually behaves — whether the process was clear, whether feedback came, whether the fund went silent after a partner meeting. GhostedByVC turns those first-hand experiences into a shared, fund-level dataset: each account pairs a few structured facts (how far the process got, the outcome, a rough timeline) with the story in the founder's own words, tied to a fund from the directory.
How we treat people
The default is the fund, not the individual. A post that names a specific person is hidden by default — the named person is shown to every reader as "a partner" — and is routed to admin review before it can be published. The point is the process and the fund's conduct, not any one person.
Pseudonymous by design
- Reading is public. Anyone can read the feed, fund pages, and posts with no account and no login.
- Acting needs an invite. Posting, voting, and reporting require an account, obtained through an invite code.
- No personal data tied to an account. You choose a username; there is no email and no real name. A persistent handle is still linkable across your own posts, and a few features can narrow things further — we explain each one, and the privacy tradeoffs, in How it works and the Privacy Notice.
The rules, briefly
Accounts must be first-hand and factual. Defamation, harassment, doxxing, and naming people gratuitously are not allowed — see the Content Policy. Anyone, member or not, can ask us to remove or correct a post through the Takedown Process.
